With everything that has been happening in the UK in the last few days I have felt even more passionate about yoga as a lifestyle. I dont mean taking pretty pictures on beaches and that can be part of it of course, loving every moment where ever you are is a great practice. I mean connectedness and love. It saddened me that every thing that I thought Britain stood for, the apparent absense of racisim, and beautiful diverse community. I think the most difficult thing in these moments in the sense of helplessness of what can or should I do to move make a change.
I, you, we can all practice. We can practice compassion and love, even towards the politicians that we would all like to disappear. We can be grateful for everything that we are blessed to have. We can actively look after our health, our friends, our families, our communities and anyone that crosses our path and needs us.
Situations like this are beautiful oportunity to be lights, to show love and patience in the face of ignorance, ego, and ultimately fear.
Put humanity before economy in whatever small or large way you can. Be it saying no to an extra job to be at home with your family or kids. Be it making a donation to a charity however small. Be it sharing your time of skills in your community local / global. Be it practicing peace within yourself, like this we can all contribute.
Moments like this are changes, systems breaking down, so new ones can be created. Keep practicing on and off you mat. Namaste
