As the daylight fades, and the darkness rolls in, its easy to want to hibernate, stay in bed and feel less alive. I offer you the tool of attention to gratefulness to begin your journey into winter.
As you wake up, lie in bed, opening your eyes, breath deep and bring to your attention one thing for which you are grateful, it can be a simple, menial thing or it can be a deep gratitude, for something larger. It really doesn’t matter, what matters is the attitude of contentment. Instead of a no, your a yes. Watch how your energy begins to flow.
During the day, observe to how you are choosing to focus your attention, are you celebrating others achievements or judging and criticizing them. Shift your focus to honoring what they positively bring forth and release your attention from the rest. If you struggle with this a mantra from Gabby Bernstein´s Judgement detox book works well for me “..the light in you is all I see”. Repeat this silently to yourself and notice how your attention shifts, and maybe how their behavior changes.
After your day is done, just before you go to sleep with a light smile, recall 5 things that happened during the day for which you feel grateful. Silently sit with the joy of contentment.
Contentment is defined through being grateful for what you do have and also for what what you don´t. I would like to invite all the community involved in pure yoga to come and receive our gratitude on the Saturday 15 of December at 11.15.
Namaste
